Delicious and interesting: Hungarian gastronomy
Visit the famous Central Market Hall to discover Hungarian cuisine firsthand; taste many of its local delicacies, learn about traditional and modern cooking methods, and explore Hungary’s specialties!
During this short but intense tour through Budapest’s Great Market Hall (lasting around 80 minutes), you can get acquainted with every important element of Hungarian gastronomy while trying out numerous treats on offer at the market hall: salami, sausages, ham, various types of cheese and paprika, pickled vegetables, honey, marmalade, fruit juice, and naturally, the famous Unicum herbal liqueur are all included on our tasting menu for this guided experience.
In addition, a comprehensive wine list will introduce you to Hungary’s native wine regions, renowned vintners, and indigenous grape varieties. As a little extra bonus, I provide you with a digital restaurant guide featuring 12 pages of local recommendations—ranging from street food to fine dining experiences.
If you prefer not to join us during one of the fixed times (Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 10 am) or wish to have a completely private experience without other guests present, choose the private version instead. In that case, you may select your preferred time slot and enjoy the program exclusively without additional participants.
