Hi, I'm Poppy This running tour is my way of reading the city. We don't just stop off at 'must see sights' and pretend we know what goes on in Hanoi. Instead, we move with its rhythm – watching market stalls being set out by their morning traders, seeing elderly gentlemen practicing Tai Chi exercises, children darting between cars as though they are playing some kind of game, or enjoying slow drip coffees whilst observing the rapid movement all around us. You will experience everything this vibrant metropolis has to offer during our runs together: serene Hoan Kiem Lake, bustling Old Quarter streets, important government buildings, hidden alleyways forgotten even by Google maps! But most significantly, you will get an insight into life here for yourself. You will hear the constant hum of conversation surrounding you, witness the chaotic yet harmonious atmosphere which only becomes clear when experienced first hand. Our jogging speed allows time to absorb these experiences without feeling overwhelmed, giving you space to question things, have fun, enjoy laughter shared along the route...and remember to breath too (like a normal person rather than a failing sat nav). If pavement pounding really isn't your thing then fear not because there is another option available to me. For those who prefer something different, let me introduce you to the trails above town....specifically the infamous Oc Eo Trail Run located high upon Ngoc Ha Hill. This path takes you away from the hustle bustle below allowing Mother Nature herself to speak her truth directly to your soul. It's often referred to affectionately within local circles simply as 'Hanoi Runners Holy Land'. Here steep ascents await alongside lush woodland pathways covered generously beneath layers thick mud caked onto every surface imaginable underneath worn down bootsoles. And oh yes..there are breathtaking panoramic vistas waiting round each corner promising stunning scenery so captivatingly beautiful that momentarily forgets exactly why were actually standing atop Vietnam's busy capitol city centre afterall!...People refer fondly towards this area calling it quite rightly 'Rooftop Of Hanoi', however personally speaking i think it does far more than merely provide great skyline shots.....it serves instead humbly remind overly confident urban explorers such as ourselves precisely whom holds true power over both man & machine alike across entire nation wide expanse stretching endlessly before ours eyes daydreamingly gazing outwards beyond familiar confines forevermore......
