Next, we will head to Piazza della Repubblica, which was completely renovated in the 19th century but served as the marketplace of the city during the Roman Empire era. Walking through Via Calzaiuoli, we will reach Orsanmichele. Originally built in 1337 as a grain market, this church was later transformed into a religious site serving as the chapel for Florence's powerful craft and trade guilds. From there, we will arrive at Piazza del Mercato Nuovo, a covered market whose main attraction is the Fontana del Porcellino (Piglet Fountain).
