Bear Watching in The Wild Tour From Brasov 100% (April-Oct)

It is a tour during which we shall observe brown bears living in their natural habitat. In Romania you can find the biggest number of European brown bears – about 10 thousand individuals. A guide will pick us up directly from our accommodation facility located on the territory of Brașov; then we’ll head towards Bucegi Mountains (Piatra Craiului), where we're going to have an encounter with a professional ranger who works here. We are taking a four wheel drive vehicle all the way uphill until reaching the observation deck situated high above ground level - this means spending around one hour and thirty minutes observing these magnificent animals coming right before our eyes! And rest assured, seeing some bears is guaranteed. This excursion usually happens after midday starting somewhere between 4 pm till 8 pm. Please note that due to safety reasons small kids below five shouldn't join because they might not behave quietly while watching wildlife through binoculars or camera viewfinders.

Transfăgărășan Highway - Bâlea Lake - Carta Monastery shared (or private) tour from Brașov

On this tour you will admire the wonderful landscapes of the Făgăraș Mountains, the highest mountains in Romania with Moldoveanu Peak reaching 2544 meters; you will also drive along the most beautiful and spectacular mountain road in Europe – Transfăgărășan. Unesco Tour from Brasov: Viscri, Sighisoara, Rupea

On this shared tour (a private tour is available upon request), we will visit some of the most significant tourist attractions in Transylvania: 1. The Saxon village of Viscri, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, features ancient villages with Saxon houses dating back to the 18th–19th centuries. Within the village stands the oldest fortified Saxon church in Transylvania, originating from the 13th century and also recognized by UNESCO. Notably, King Charles of Great Britain once owned a home there. Visitors can interact with local villagers, explore the distillery run by Saxon Walter, and sample the renowned Palinca, a traditional Transylvanian brandy. 2. Sighișoara Fortress, known for being the oldest continuously inhabited fortress in Eastern Europe. This medieval stronghold dates back to the 14th century and holds historical significance as the birthplace of Prince Vlad III Basarab (also known as Dracula or Vlad the Impaler) in 1431. Our tour includes visiting his historic 15th-century residence and enjoying lunch within its walls. 3. As an alternative to the fortified church at Biertan, we’ll instead visit Râșnov Fortress, constructed between the 14th and 17th centuries. Built atop a basalt hill, this strategic defense structure protected both the trading routes connecting Brașov to Sighișoara and Sibiu and safeguarded the residents of Râșnov during invasions by Mongols, Tatars, and Ottomans. During outbreaks of infectious diseases like scarlet fever and typhoid, locals would retreat to the safety of the fortress, where approximately 100 stone homes provided shelter. Views from the top offer breathtaking vistas across the surrounding landscape.

Tour of three castles near Brașov: Peleș, Bran and Râșnov (Cantacuzino Castle)

In this shared tour (upon request we can also organise a private tour) departing from the city of Brasov, we will visit the most important tourist attractions in Romania and Transylvania. We will visit 1. Peleş Castle, the summer residence of the first King of Romania, Carol I. It was built by the Romanian king between 1873 and 1914. It is the most beautiful castle in Romania and possibly even in Europe. Its standout features are its fourteen different kinds of elaborate wood carvings. 2. Bran Castle (also known as Dracula’s Castle), associated with the story about Vlad the Impaler told to us through author Bram Stoker's novel 'Dracula', published back in Ireland in 1897. This mediaeval fortification dates all the way back to somewhere between the fourteenth and seventeenth centuries when these parts were still wild frontiers. We shall encounter ancient tales here; maybe some eerie whispers or shadowy figures within the gloomy corridors? 3. Râşnov Citadel – although currently undergoing restoration work, you may have seen scenes shot there on location for season one of ‘Wednesday’, aka Nevermore Academy starring the iconic Addams Family! Instead, let me introduce you to the stunningly picturesque Cantacuzino Castle which has been used as an actual film set too. Enjoy your freshly brewed coffee whilst taking in the sights around Peleş Castle including both gardens and architecture itself before tucking into a hearty meal later on in nearby Bran Village.
